RULES FOR ACADEMIC ARTICLES TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE “RERI”

Latest update:  November, 2008

1.  All articles must be submitted to the following RERI e-mail address: director@reri-anudi.es.

2.  Only original, unpublished articles written in Spanish or in English will be admitted.  Exceptionally, with the approval of the Director, certain previously published articles, or articles written in languages other than Spanish or English may be published.

3.  All articles must be submitted in a standard electronic text format (for example, .doc in Word).  The exact title of the article must be included in an Abstract in Spanish and in English, as well as a series of key words (approximately five) referring to the subject matter of the article.

4.  In a separate document, the title of the article, author’s profession, entity/institution to which they belong, and their e-mail address should be included.

5. Concerning footnotes:  ISO 690-2 norms will be followed.  These norms specify the order and contents of bibliographic references.  Some general rules and examples are found therein.

6.  All articles, once accepted by the direction of RERI, will be evaluated by blind arbitration.  In this system, no personal information concerning the author is known by the members of the editorial board.

7.  The due date for reception of articles is June 1st of each year.  In general, the editorial council will recommend or not the publication of an article in no less than two months.  An article will be published when there is a majority of positive references from the council.  In case of a tie, the final decision will be made by the Director of  RERI.

8.  The results of the evaluation will be communicated to the author along with any relevant comments by the evaluators.  If the evaluation is positive, the author will be offered the opportunity to resubmit his or her article incorporating any or all changes he or she wishes.

9.  Subject matter:  Academic articles referring to any area of international relations or public international law.  Current, historical or theoretical subjects dealing with international policy, economy, human rights or law may be analyzed or interpreted.
